potd - Kimono Silk
I've just put these kimono silks out - late 20th century but as-new on the roll. I love the first one with the roof design!

potd - Old Piece of Silk
This is an old length of partly embroidered silk from one of my rummage baskets. It looks like kimono fabric but definitely hasn't been used for a kimono. It might have been used on an obi - or I don't know what. It's wonderfully vibrant and worn and shabby at the same time. (Click on the photos to enlarge)

potd - Baby Silks?
I had a lady in the shop yesterday who bought this orange floral kimono silk to make a summer dress for her newborn granddaughter. I thought it was a perfect choice - simply pretty and beautifully soft and cool at the same time. I picked out a couple of others that were equally as soft and pretty. I'm sure all babies should wear silk!
