Introduction to Sashiko (18th February). I haven't got photos of the finished panels, but here's an idea of the style of the panels - you can choose something quite simple, or more complex (the colour hasn't come out well in this photo - they're not that dull!). Some sashiko stitching samples following:
'Hanafukin' for the Fukin Inspirations workshop (17th March or 8th April):
Komebukuro rice-bags (4th March or 28th April). There is a lot of flexiblity in this pattern to create a bag to your own taste. The first sample is quite large and made with silk remnants, the second is quite small and made with antique cotton:
Please let me know if you have questions about any of our workshops.
These are beautiful! If Scotland were a bit closer to Tasmania I'd definitely sign up for the workshop. Hope it goes well.
ReplyDeleteThanks very much Catherine. I'm sure we'll have fun.

Hello! I would love to do a workshop, although am not sure which one! I make corsets and would like to be able to incorporate something that I learn into my work. Perhaps the Fukin Inspirations on 17 March?
ReplyDeleteBest wishes,
Kristi
Hi Kristi
ReplyDeleteI can't see any reason why a workshop on stitched cleaning cloths couldn't be an inspiration for your corsets! There's still space on Sunday 17th March or Monday 8th April. You're welcome to give me a call 6229-1420 or email me and I can send you the workshop programme: jan@wafuworks.com.au
Thanks
Jan
